2026 Design Trends

Interior Design Trends Shaping the UAE in 2026

Back to the Journal

Warm minimalism, honest materials and quiet luxury are replacing the maximalist gold-and-marble look that once defined Gulf interiors.

Across the villas and apartments we have delivered this year, clients are asking for calmer palettes — warm plasters, oak and walnut joinery, and stone with visible texture rather than high-gloss polish. The shift reflects a broader move toward interiors that feel considered rather than simply expensive.

Biophilic elements are appearing in almost every residential brief: courtyard planting visible from the majlis, natural ventilation strategies paired with smart climate control, and materials — limewash, raw linen, unlacquered brass — that age visibly and gracefully rather than staying pristine.

On the commercial side, offices are moving away from uniform open-plan floors toward zoned neighbourhoods — quiet rooms, collaboration lounges and a considered material story that reflects the company's brand rather than a generic corporate look. We expect both trends to accelerate through 2027.
